Volunteer Your Time

Volunteers are the heart of Our Neighbors’ Place. Whether you’re sorting donations, packing food, helping with events, or serving on our board, your time makes a tangible difference in the lives of local families.

Opportunities include:

  • The Closet: Assist guests, sort donations, and keep the space welcoming.

  • Maintenance Crew: Help fix things up or join the occasional cleanup team.

  • Board Member: Guide our mission and help lead ONP forward.

  • Backpack Program: Stock shelves or pack weekend meals for students.

  • Special Events & Fundraising: Support planning and execution of Casino Night, Empty Bowls, National Night Out, and more.

In-Kind Donations

Support our mission with tangible goods that meet real, everyday needs.

Donations can be dropped off at 122 W Johnson St, River Falls any time the building is open:

  • Mon: 1–4pm

  • Tue & Thu: 10am–6pm

  • Wed & Fri: 10am–4pm

  • Sat: 10am–1pm

No appointment needed.

Day Center Needs

  • Ready-to-eat non-perishable food (pop-top cans, pouches, microwavable cups)

    • Examples: Mac & cheese cups, chili, tuna or chicken pouches, soup, applesauce pouches, trail mix, jerky

  • Travel-size toiletries: shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, etc

The Closet Needs

  • Gently-used or new in-season ADULT clothing, shoes, outerwear

  • Accessories: purses, belts, jewelry, scarves, etc.

  • Personal care items: deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, tampons/pads, diapers, wipes

  • Household items: detergent, all-purpose cleaners, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, gallon Ziplocs

  • Bedding: blankets, towels, sleeping bags, sheet sets

Donations can be in boxes or bags
— no hangers needed

Backpack Program Needs

  • Kid-friendly boxed cereal

  • Individually wrapped snacks (fruit snacks, granola bars, applesauce, microwave popcorn, etc.)

  • Sandwich/quart-sized baggies

  • Plastic jars of peanut butter
